AI credits power every AI feature in Docsiv — chat messages, inline edits, and document generation. Each action consumes a number of credits depending on the complexity of the request.

Credits by plan

Each workspace receives a monthly credit allowance based on its plan. Plan credits reset at the start of each billing cycle.

Plan credits reset every billing cycle. If you do not use your monthly credits, they do not carry over to the next month.

Credit packs

If you need more credits mid-cycle, you can purchase a one-time credit pack from Settings → Billing. Credit packs are a one-time purchase and are added on top of your monthly plan allowance. Available packs:

Purchased credits do not expire. They roll forward with your workspace until you use them.

Checking your credit usage

Go to Dashboard → Settings and open the Usage tab to see a breakdown of your credits:
  • Plan credits — the monthly allowance from your plan.
  • Purchased — credits from one-time packs.
  • Used — total credits consumed so far this cycle.
  • Remaining — credits left until the next reset.
The Usage tab also shows a token-level breakdown by model, request count, and a detailed log of recent AI calls.

What happens when you run out of credits

When your remaining credits reach zero, AI features stop working until credits are replenished. You will see an error message in AI Chat when a request is blocked. To restore access:
  • Buy a credit pack from Settings → Billing → Add-ons for an immediate top-up.
  • Upgrade your plan to move to a higher monthly allowance.
  • Wait for your billing cycle to reset if you are on a paid plan and prefer not to purchase extra credits.
When credits run out, all AI features are paused — including AI Chat, inline edits, and document generation. Upgrading your plan or purchasing a credit pack restores access immediately.
